Middle Earth Tiles - Terms of Trade

Quantities

When placing orders, please consider a percentage for cutting, typically recommended at 10-15% of the area to be tiled.

Ordering additional tiles at a later date may be challenging, so it's advisable to order a sufficient quantity as part of your initial order.

Suitability for Purpose / Product Variation

It is essential to be aware of potential variations in shade and size between samples and delivered goods, as well as between tiles making up your order.

Due to the handcrafted nature of our hand glazed tiles, variations in colour, texture, crazing, and finish will occur in different degrees depending on the specific glaze. Certain tiles may craze over time, meaning small surface cracks may develop over the course of your tile’s lifetime. Crazing is part of the beauty of our tiles.

Such variations are inherent to the tile manufacturing process and should not be considered defects.

Retaining additional tiles for potential wastage and repairs is recommended, considering that matching tiles may not be available in the future.

Nominal sizes are indicated, but actual sizes can vary.

If mixing tiles, compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.

While we offer assistance and advice in selecting goods, ensuring their suitability for your intended purpose and compliance with regulations remains your responsibility.

Installation

For those selecting tiles, ensure they possess the correct technical characteristics suitable for the designated area.

Installation must adhere to best tiling practices, manufacturer's directions, guidelines, and relevant NZ building standards. We bear no responsibility for product failure resulting from the non-observance of such directives and standards.

It's crucial to understand that tile installation and laying signify aesthetic acceptance of the goods, and any claims post-fixing cannot be entertained.

Returns

Our tiles are primarily made, or sourced, to order.

Due to the custom nature of our work, we generally cannot offer returns.

However, we do occasionally accept returns on some of our best sellers that we aim to have ready to ship at all times. Returns or cancellations of saleable, full unopened boxes will be considered on a case by case basis. If we elect to accept a return a 40% restocking fee will apply.

Freight and Delivery

Freight charges are applicable to all deliveries, covering the transportation cost to your site. (It is important to note that any on-site product movement and the associated costs are the responsibility of the customer).

Upon receiving the goods, we kindly request a prompt inspection.

If any damage is noted, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery, as subsequent claims will not be accepted by either the carrier or by us. The responsibility for any damage occurring after the collection of goods or signing of the delivery docket is transferred to the Purchaser.

While we strive to meet delivery deadlines, it is essential to acknowledge that we cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, or subsequent issues arising from delays.

Collecting your tiles from us

For those opting to collect their tiles, please be mindful of the maximum carrying capacity allowed when loading your vehicles. We have specific weight limits for different vehicle types, ensuring safety and compliance with the Land Transport Act.

Your responsibility extends to properly securing the load on your vehicle, so please bring appropriate strapping if necessary.
